Inicio - Impresos - López Obrador calls for ‘moral regeneration’ of Mexico

Andrés Manuel López Obrador marks a hyperactive first year in office with a new book calling for a moral transformation of Mexico, but critics say he is trying to distract from his inability to deliver promised growth, security and welfare.

Towards a Moral Economy, the latest in a string of books by the 66-year-old nationalist president, has been a pre-order and digital best-seller on Amazon Mexico this week. It hits bookstores on Sunday, the anniversary of Mr López Obrador’s inauguration, and is designed to flesh out his vision for curing Mexico of the ills of corruption and inequality.
